Here at Ewan Bramley Dental care we pride ourselves on listening to what you would like to gain from your treatment with us. We want you to tell us exactly what you hope for and we will then in turn provide you with all the options available to you.
If you lose one or more of your teeth there are a few options available to you ie dentures, bridges or to even leave the gap. But what if you wanted to have something more permanent and as close to a real tooth as possible?
The answer? Dental Implants!
A dental implant is as close to a natural tooth as you can get. They look , feel and function like a real tooth. A dental implant is an artificial tooth root that is surgically anchored into your jaw to hold a replacement tooth or bridge in place. Don’t worry! This does sound painful but our patients tell us they can carry on with their normal lives the next day and it isn’t half as painful as they had imagined.
I recently attended one of Russell’s Implant consultations to find out more about the process.
Russell is our in-house Implant dentist, he has placed over 250 implants.
To start the consultation the patient was asked about the outcome she would like and why she would prefer dental implants over Dentures, bridges or just leaving the gap. The patient explained she would like something that is more a more permanent solution, she would like to avoid dentures and would like to avoid bridges due to having to have teeth either side prepared.
Russell listened to what the patient had to say and then explained in detail about the implant process itself, time scales involved and appointments that would be needed. The patient left the consultation knowing that the next stage of the appointment would be for a CBCT scan and data collection appointment. This will enable him to assess the bone levels of the patient’s mouth and give him the information required if the implant would be straight forward or would require any further treatments such as a bone graft.
The patient informed us she was very happy with the information given at this consultation. She left the consultation knowing the process, a guide to the costs, aftercare required and the next stages of her treatment.
Remember, we offer free consultations with our dentists if you would like any more information.
The benefits of our consultations are to allow you to collect all the relevant information before you commit to any treatment. We encourage you to ask as many questions as you like as we want you to be 100% secure in your decision. Don’t worry if you leave your consultation and think of more questions! There is always a qualified member of staff on our reception if you would like to call us or send us an email. We are more than happy to help you.
