Are you searching for dental implants and wondering how much they cost? Do you need a bone transplant or a tooth implant to give you a great smile? Well, Ewan Bramley Dental Care is a dental implant specialist and here we take a look how the implant process works and how they can change your life!

What exactly is a dental implant?

In modern dentistry, dental implants are viewed as the best treatment for missing teeth. When a dentist removes a decayed or damaged tooth (the part that people can see), both the crown and the root are gone forever.

But a dental implant can be fitted into the jawbone which is allowed to marry up with natural bone and become a solid foundation for replacement teeth. They can be used to replace just one tooth or a denture or bridge that can support many teeth.

Without a doubt, implants are the next best thing to natural and healthy teeth. And the great thing about them is that they look and perform just like a normal tooth would, meaning you can get on with daily life without the worry or stress of having gaps in your smile.

How does the process work and how are they fitted?

Because dental implants perform just like normal teeth do, you can brush, floss and visit the dentist for check-ups as you always have done.

But before you get to that stage, you’ll need to see a dental implant specialist so he or she can put your treatment plan together.

Once that has been finalised the process is ready to begin:

Step 1

The dental implant is placed into the jawbone.

Step 2

The healing process begins, allowing your implant to fuse with your natural jawbone. This process normally lasts for around 2 months.

Step 3

A small connector (an abutment) is then attached to the top of your new implant to connect to the replacement tooth.

Step 4

Finally, a single tooth, or a supported bridge/denture containing multiple teeth is connected to the abutment. And then you’re all done!

How much do dental implants cost?

We tailor make each treatment plan to suit the individual meaning the level of appointments, procedures and costs will vary. But after we’ve carried out the initial assessment, our in-house experts would provide you with a plan and the estimated cost.

But as a general guide, our dental implants assessments and consultations are FREE and implants start from £1250. We also have a range of flexible payment plans, interest-free finance options and don’t carry out any credit checks.

What if I don’t have enough healthy bone to support dental implants?

OK, if you don’t have enough healthy bone it doesn’t mean you can’t have dental implants. Lots of factors can cause this, like gum disease, wearing dentures for too long or an injury to the face, but we have different treatments in place to combat this.

We’re used to rebuilding the bone here at Ewan Bramley Dental Care and can perform a bone implant as well as teeth implants.

Our techniques include bone grafts where we build up or add bone to the jaw by using natural bone from another location. We also carry out Sinus Lifts and Ridge expansions, which is used when a jaw isn’t wide enough to support implants.

But don’t worry, we’ll have a solution for you regardless of the condition of your teeth.
