Root Canal Treatment

Endodontic treatment is focussed on trying to keep teeth which have undergone trauma to the point that the nerve inside the tooth is acutely inflamed or has died. This is the most common cause of a ‘tooth ache’. Once the nerve dies bacteria inside the tooth produce toxins which can result in an infection and dental abscess can develop around the tooth.

Endodontic/Root canal treatment is a procedure in which the space inside the tooth where the nerve is housed is disinfected and the space is sealed with a root canal filling.

At Union Quay Dental, we’re happy to accept referrals from other dental professionals for Root Canal Treatment who want their patients to receive the best standards of clinical precision and care. This treatment is carried out by Dr Tom Brannen who has a special interest in Root Canal Treatments and in 2016 passed his MSc training in Endodontics with Distinction from the prestigious Kings College London. In 2020 Tom became of member of the Faculty of Dental Trainers and provides Endodontic teaching courses to other General dentist on this field of dentistry.
